Some Club History
The Richmond Triumph Register a long standing VTR Chapter
The Richmond Triumph Register – RTR was formed on August 17, 1986 to “Share interest in Triumph Cars, share technical knowledge with others. To participate in car shows and special events and to promote prosperity and interest in Triumph classic cars.” The RTR submitted a questionnaire to become a Vintage Triumph Register chapter to the National Board of VTR on October 14, 1986. The documents were presented by the charter President, Tyler Hancock stating the board of officers included VP Jonah Boles III, Secretary/Treasurer, David Sie and Newsletter Editor Bob Duval. Meeting the minimum criteria for inclusion of 20 RTR members, 11 of which were VTR members. The charter as a VTR chapter was approved and dated December 1, 1986. During its tenure as a VTR chapter the club has maintained at least 10 active VTR members each year. RTR has supported the VTR cause supporting both Regional and National conventions. RTR conducted a Regional VTR event in 2000 and hosted a National Convention in 2004. In recent years several RTR members have served on the National Board as officers, chapter coordinators and support functions.
